OUR STORY

WHAT WE STAND FOR

FAMILY BUSINESS

Luceo Aesthetics was established in 2020 by the mother-daughter duo; Angie and Lisa. Angie has a long established career with the NHS as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Prescriber, while Lisa has a background in marketing and branding with a Honours Degree in Media, and an MSc in International Marketing and Branding.

As a family business, Luceo Aesthetics was named after the Mackenzie clan’s motto, “Luceo Non Uro”, translating to “Shine Not Burn”, and Luceo being Gaelic for shine, sparkle and gleam - exactly how we want our patients to feel when stepping out of our clinic.

OUR ETHOS

As a luxury clinic, our ethos is to provide a high quality treatment, engrained from the products we use, to the highly trained staff and the time and care we take with every individual; we aim to give you an experience you will never forget, and always want to return to.

A clinic you can trust, we have the highest grade clinic facilities, which are HIS (Health Improvement Scotland) approved, including medical grade equipment, with the highest standards of safety and hygiene in practice, in a luxury, aesthetic setting. Second to none, we offer our patients the premium package when it comes to facial aesthetics in Scotland.

EXPERTS YOU CAN TRUST

Angie Mackenzie, Level 7 Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Aesthetic Injectable Therapies (PGDip CAIT)

The PGDip CAIT qualification sets Angie apart from many practitioners as it’s one of the highest levels of qualification in the Aesthetic Industry, only available to those in the medical profession. It incorporates 6 full practical training days with an intense level of learning. The online learning platform has a minimum of 150 hours of interactive learning before going on to complete 40 short answer questions. These cover a huge variety of aesthetic topics, including regulations and employment law, involving lots of self -research. Other written work includes a critical literature review, patient case study including reflection and risk assessment including appraisal of the regulations and guidelines relating to it.

This level of study is equivalent to 120 credits at Masters level. The course meets the exacting criteria of the Joint Council for Cosmetic Practitioners (JCCP) and is regulated by OFQUAL and awarded by the OTHM.

Although the PGDip CAIT covered complication management, Angie undertook a separate one day course focussing on the diagnosis and management of both common and rare (but serious) complications. She is also a member of the Aesthetic Complications Expert (ACE) Group – a group of experts dedicated to supporting Aesthetic Practitioners 24hr/7 day per week in the event of any complications. They also provide online learning materials and guidelines relevant to the industry.

Angie wants to ensure her patients receive the best care and treatment and it was a top priority for her to do an in-depth training course rather than just a one day practical day that many practitioners do. Every paient’s face is important to Angie and she feels it takes more than one day to fully understand the complex facial anatomy, including the muscles, layers of the skin, blood vessels and nerves before then starting to learn and master all there is to know about the different Botulinum Toxins and Dermal Fillers. Medical assessment is important before any treatments. Angie’s long career as a nurse in the NHS since 1983, in General Practice since 1993, working laterally as Advanced Nurse Practitioner, set her up with excellent consultation, examination and prescribing skills. She has a good all round knowledge of many health conditions, their treatments and their relevance to cosmetic aesthetic treatments.

As an independent nurse prescriber of many years, and having a fully regulated Healthcare Improvement Scotland (HIS) clinic, Angie is legally able to stock and administer prescription drugs. This includes drugs that may be necessary to treat any complications, allowing holistic care.

Angie’s training hasn’t stopped with the PGDip CAIT. She has enhanced her knowledge and skills by undertaking additional masterclass courses and also a one to one training day with MATA at their prestigious Harley Street Clinic.

As a nurse, Angie is regulated by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), so you can be sure to receive high quality, person centred care. HIS ensure high standards are adhered to by carrying  out both announced and unannounced inspections along with ongoing support and regulations.
