Can you tell me more about the treatment?
Dermalux Flex LED is a safe, effective, non invasive treatment delivering clinically proven light wavelengths to the skin using the portable Dermalux Flex LED device. It is a CE certified medical device (no other LED device holds this certification), tested against stringent quality, safety and efficacy standards and independently verified to deliver against medical claims. It provides unrivalled clinically proven results for a wide range of concerns.
The mechanism of action is a natural response, similar to that of plant photosynthesis, through a process of photo-biomodulation. Specific wavelengths interact with biological systems and activate key cell receptors, which consequently trigger a transfer of light energy to cellular energy. Skin cells that are energised function better and can renew faster to promote youthful, healthy, radiant skin.
The clinically proven wavelengths used:
Blue 415nm – Key mechanism: Antibacterial
Used to treat acne and psoriasis. It targets the epidermis destroying bacteria known to cause acne thus improving skin clarity without irritation. The powerful antibacterial action has a calming effect to reduce redness and inflammation. This wavelength also enhances the mood. It can be beneficial post aesthetic procedure to minimise infection or breakouts.
Red 633nm – Key mechanism: Rejuvenation and cell renewal
Great for skin rejuvenation and to help tissue repair. It boosts collagen and elastin production with the result of improving fine lines and skin texture and tone. It increases the skins natural hydration and stimulates the circulation and lymphatic system. It restores optimum cell function, allowing cells to regenerate up to 200% faster!
Near Infrared (NIR) 830nm – Key Mechanism: Wound healing
This wavelength is absorbed in the deepest skin layers and works synergistically with Red light for optimum rejuvenation results. NIR calms redness and irritation, reduces pigmentation, accelerates wound healing and is ideal for the most sensitive of skins. It offers advanced skin rejuvenation benefits.
What happens at my appointment?
For facial treatments:
Firstly, you will receive a lovely facial cleanse
You will then receive an “instant painless peel”. This enzymatic peel doesn’t cause any pain or peeling. It very gently exfoliates the dead skin cells from the surface, allowing the Dermalux Flex LED to work more effectively.
You may have a serum applied to your skin before having the Dermalux Flex LED light placed over your head. You will be asked to wear protective goggles and must also keep your eyes closed whilst the light is on.
The Dermalux Flex LED will be delivered for between 20-30 minutes whilst you relax. It does not generate any heat.
Following treatment, you will have a lovely moisturiser and SPF massaged into your face and neck to leave your skin feeling smooth and glowing.
Whilst there is no specific aftercare required for the Dermalux Flex, other than to maintain good hydration by drinking water, you will be given any relevant aftercare advice relating to your specific skin concerns.
This treatment is a perfect way to relax whilst benefitting from the proven results.
Are there any contraindications to the treatment?
You will receive a full medical assessment before agreeing to the treatment and this will involve checking your medical history, current medications and any skin concerns.
The treatment is not suitable for the following:

Current active cancer treatment

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus

St John Wort
Dermalux Flex is suitable for those who are breastfeeding and for all Fitzpatrick skin types. It is suitable for delivery ALL year round.
Is there any downtime after treatment?
No pain, no downtime! You will leave the clinic feeling calm and refreshed. You can go back to work immediately and there is no restriction on any activities post treatment.
How soon will I notice results?
Immediately after treatment your skin may be slightly flushed looking since the circulation is stimulated and improved. Depending on which concerns are being treated and their severity, will depend on how many sessions are required for results to be achieved. Most concerns will benefit from a course of treatments with results being cumulative. Results can last for several weeks following a course but you may be advised to have a regular maintenance session to maintain results and good skin health.
How much does it cost for Dermalux Flex treatment?
A session of Dermalux Flex LED lasting around 45 minutes (30 minutes under the light) costs £50 but a block of 6 sessions can be booked for £270 (£45 each) or a block of 12 sessions for £480 (£40 each)
If you wish to add a 20 minute session of Dermalux Flex LED to your aesthetic treatment (such as after Micro needling, Obagi Blue Peel Radiance, Dermal fillers) this is £20. This helps to accelerate the healing process, minimise bruising and calm any redness.
